Attorney Donald Moonen Jr. of Epworth, IA; repeat offender

The state of Illinois presented Donald F. Moonen Jr. with a law license in 1976. He also obtained a law license from Iowa in 1977.

The Disciplinary Commission found Jaroslaw guilty of the following misconduct.

The Iowa Supreme Court disciplined Donald on two separate occasions. First, Don received a complimentary reprimand for failing to return corporate books at his client’s request and for failed to initially cooperate with the disciplinary investigation.

In the second matter, Don received a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license for neglecting three estate matters, making loans to himself and to his wife from funds from on of the estates, and making misrepresentations (lying) to the probate court about taking his attorney’s fees out of estate funds in on of the matters.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Don by gifting him with the same punishment the Iowa Supreme Court meted out.

As we speak (ca. December 2013) Donald continues to practice in the Epworth, Iowa area.
