Today’s “Moron” Award Winner
 
 
Mike is yet another U.S. Senator that learned how to tell outright lies and/or to spew forth hyperbolic (BS) statements in furtherance of his ongoing effort to dupe the voters in Nebraska while he attended Law School at Creighton University.
 
As seen below, over the past 22 years, Mike has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough.
  • 1991 to 1999 – Mayor of Lincoln, Nebraska
  • 2000 to 2004 – Governor of Nebraska
  • 2005 to 2007 – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture
  • 2009 – 2013 – U.S. Senator from Nebraska
On Dec 13, 2013, Mike appeared on the Senate Floor to whine about Sen. Reid’s abolishment of the filibuster requiring 60 votes to confirm judicial and administrative appointments by Obama.
 
Mike had the chutzpah to argue that the right of the minority GOP members to obstruct appointments and/or legislation was vital because unpopular ideas sometimes became more popular over time.
 
Mike the Moron then said:
  • “They [President and Senate majority] can appoint the entire judiciary of the United States in the District Court and in the Circuit Courts with absolutely no involvement whatsoever from the minority. None.”
  • “That’s what their [Senate] rule change did.”
The Moron then went on to say:
  • “I wonder who was the first Senator in our history who came to the floor and said, ‘My fellow Senators, I have thought about this, and I believe the day has arrived to end slavery in the United States.”
  • “And I will be attaching an amendment to every bill to end that horrific practice.”
  • “I’ll bet they were a very lonely US Senator at that point in time. But I’m guessing that that Senator and tenacious other Senators along the way exercised their rights as a minority and as an individual Senator to continue to force that issue [slavery]. What a courageous, remarkable thing to do.”
So here we have the Moron comparing the courage to vote against a judicial nominee with a vote to continue slavery. Not only is Mike a Moron, he’s also a Bigot and an Aspiring Standup Comedian.
 
Congrats Mike; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble
