Attorney Eugene Sullivan of Southington, CT; ethical misfit

The state of Connecticut provided Eugene Timothy Sullivan with a law license in 1984.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Eugene guilty of the following misconduct.

At the time of his misconduct, Gene was the town attorney for the town of Berlin, which related to the site plan application of Michael Nelson. Nelson’s application was subsequently denied; however, he then appealed the denial to the local Superior Court. Shortly thereafter, the trial judge ordered that the matter be remanded back to the Berlin Planning and Zoning Commission for further review.

While the matter was pending before the Superior Court, Gene found it acceptable to discuss the legal merits of the case with Mr. Nelson despite the fact that Gene absolutely knew he was represented by an attorney.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Eugene by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2013) Eugene practices with Wisniowski & Sullivan LLC at 35 North Main Street in Southington, Connecticut.
