Attorney John Hargrave of Barrington, NJ; ethical misfit

The state of New Jersey presented John W. Hargrave with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Western New England Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Johnny entered into a business transaction with bankruptcy clients in which he obtained a mortgage against their home in order to prevent or delay a third-party from obtaining a lien against the house.

Johnny did so without fully disclosing the terms of the transaction in writing, advising the clients (victims) in writing that they should seek the advice of another attorney and without obtaining the required written consent from the clients.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. November 2013) Johnny practices with John W. Hargrave & Associates in Barrington, New Jersey.
