Attorney Randy Cartrette of Whiteville, NC; convicted druggie

The state of North Carolina presented Randy L. Cartrette with a law license in 1999.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Randy guilty of the following misconduct.

On several occasions over an 8-month period of time, Randy possessed and engaged in the unlawful use of marijuana and cocaine.

Subsequently, Randy was arrested and charged with felonious possession of cocaine and marijuana. Randy then pleaded no contest plea to the drug charges and was allowed to enter into a deferred adjudication agreement with DA that allowed for the criminal charges to be dismissed within one year if he complied with the terms of the agreement.

The criminal charges were later dismissed upon Randy’s completion of the deferred adjudication agreement.

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Randy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2013) Randy continues to practice in the Whiteville, North Carolina area.
