Attorney Ronald Blanchard of Hendersonville, NC; ethical dwarf The state of North Carolina presented Ronald G. Blanchard with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from North Carolina Central University Law School.
The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Ronnie guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Ronnie was appointed to represent a client who was charged as an accessory after the fact to murder. Most of the work in the case was done by Ronnie’s law partner; however, Ronnie never obtained the consent of the court or his client to such a substation of counsel.
One year after his appointment, the client’s mother contacted Ronnie about helping her son to be released on bond. At that time, Ronnie never made any effort to address the bond issue even though the DA assigned to the case indicated she would consent to a bond motion at the time.
Rather than direct his partner to purse the bond matter for his client, Ronnie accepted a fee of $5,500 from the client’s mother and by doing so collected an excessive and unwarranted fee.
As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Benny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
As we speak (ca. November 2013) Ronnie practices with Blanchard & Newman at 112 North Washington Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina area.
