Judge Susan Flood of Bartow, FL; philandering loser

The state of Florida presented Susan Flood with a law license in 1987 after she graduated from the University of Florida Law School.
Judge Flood sits as a County Court Judge for Polk County, Florida and presides over Small Claims matters.
For some time, the scuttlebutt at the courthouse in Bartow was that Judge Flood and her bailiff, James “Bubba” Maxcy, were involved in a sexual relationship.
An investigation by the State Attorney’s Office concluded in a 68-page report that there was “no direct evidence to substantiate the allegations that Flood and Maxcy were having a sexual tryst.
However, the report was very critical of Flood and Maxcy, stating that the she was vulnerable to such allegations by how she “carried on at the courthouse” with her bailiff, and did not heed the warnings of several other fellow judges “about the improprieties of her relationship with her bailiff.”
The report went on to state in part:
  • “Judge Flood and Maxcy were seen everywhere together and also spent hours at a time behind closed doors in judicial chambers.”
  • “In addition to being seen socially together, the two were regularly spotted together inside parked cars in the courthouse public parking lot.”
I wonder how much the taxpayers were hosed in wages while Suzie and Bubba were screwing around in her chambers and/or the courthouse parking lot.
As we speak (ca. October 2013), Susie remains sitting as a Polk County Judge in Bartow, Florida.
