Attorney Charles Clifford of Maryville, TN; serial offender

 
The state of Tennessee provided Charles Michael Clifford with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.
 
The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Charles guilty of the following misconduct.
 
Charles’ 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to cooperate with disciplinary agency (Up Yours, said Charley!)
  • Failed to file appellate brief within time requirements leading to dismissal of client’s appeal
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Charles by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
 
Charles’ 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to expedite client’s litigation
  • Failed to cooperate with disciplinary agency (Up Yours, said Charley!)
  • Knowingly lied to client about status of litigation
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Charles by gifting him with a 2nd complimentary censure.
 
Charles’ 3rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to abide by his client’s wishes
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Charles by gifting him with a 3rd complimentary censure.
 
As we speak (ca. October 2013) Charles practices at 631 William Blount Drive in Maryville, Tennessee.
