Judge Kevin Christensen of Brigham City, UT; greedy loser

The state of Utah presented Kevin Christensen with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from Gonzaga University Law School.

In 1996, the powers-to-be were duped into appointing Kevin to the Box Elder County Justice Court. Subsequently, Kevin was appointed to sit on the Justice Courts in Garland, Tremonton and Willard, Utah.

The Judicial Conduct Commission found Kevin guilty of the following misconduct.

Kevin found it acceptable to knowingly violate state law that provides that a justice court judge employed by mo

re than one government entity may not receive a total salary for service as a justice court judge greater than the salary of a district court judge, which in 2012 was $132,000.

Kevin’s annual compensation from the four justice court’s exceeded a district court judge’s annual salary for 2009, 2010 and 2012.

Greedy Kevin had the audacity to challenge the constitutionality of the salary limitation as embodied in the Utah Constitution. Of course Kevin’s asinine argument did not prevail.

It is painfully clear that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Salt Lake City area was about to offer Kevin a good paying job. Therefore, Greedy Kevin decided to rip-off the taxpayers by collecting compensation that he absolutely knew he was not lawfully entitled too.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Kevin by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2013), Kevin remains as a Judge on the Box Elder County Justice Court in Brigham City, Utah.
