Attorney Brian Stevens of Glen Allen, VA; ethical misfit

The state of Virginia presented Brian Keith Stevens with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from William & Mary University of Virginia Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Brian guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Brian was named as co-executor of the estate of Dennis Gibson along with Michael Gibson in the Chesterfield County Circuit Court. Brian drafted the last will and testament of the deceased.

Fourteen months after the inventory of the estate was filed with the court, the Commissioner of Accounts sent Brian a letter stating that an accounting of the estate was past due by 60 days and advised Brian to contact the Commissioner’s office to let him know the status of the accounting. Brian never responded to the letter.

A month later, the Commissioner issued a summons to Brian ordering that he file the accounting in accordance with Virginia law within 30 days. Brian failed to respond to the summons and did not file the required accounting within 30 days.

It wasn’t until four (4) months later that Brian finally filed the required accounting the Commissioner’s office.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2013), Brian practices at 3205 Attems Court in Glen Allen, Virgina.
