Attorney David Jones, Jr. of Fairfax, VA; ethical misfit

The state of Virginia presented David Colin Jones, Jr. with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found David guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Dave was hired by a client to file a petition necessary for him to restore his driving privileges following his conviction as a habitual offender. The client (victim) then paid Dave $1,000 and also paid to obtain the necessary Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) report.

After the 4th of July holiday, Dave called the client and promised he would file the necessary petition. In early August, the client called Dave to remind him of the fast approaching expiration date of the ASAP report. Paul told him that he would file the petition in a timely manner, advising him that he would file it the 3rd week of August when he was in court for another matter.

Dave never filed the petition as he promised. As a result of his gross negligence, the ASAP report had expired.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished David by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2013), David practices at 10617 Jones Street in Fairfax, Virginia.
