Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID): Today’s “Homophobe” Award Winner

In November 2010, Raul succeeded in duping the voters in the greater Boise area into electing him to the U.S. House of Representatives.

As one would suspect, Raul is another lawyer running amuck in the Halls of Congress. Apparently, Raul had difficulty earning a dishonest living as a lawyer and decided it would more financially rewarding to go into politics.

In addition to being a die-in-the-wool Homophobe, Raul is also a Certified Moron. In an ongoing attempt to play to his fellow bigots in the greater Boise area, Raul recently decided to put forth a rant regarding the Supreme Court‘s ruling that the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was unconstitutional and that same sex couples were entitled to the same rights and freedoms enjoyed by heterosexual couples.

Raul then introduced legislation that would basically legalize discrimination against same sex couples by so-called tax-exempt religious organizations under the guise of “religious freedom.”

The Phobe went on to say:

•  “Most religious institutions fall within the 501 (c) tax exempt code.”
• “Under the Marriage and Religious Freedom Act (MRFA), no individual or institution which celebrates and defines marriage as between one man and one woman would be denied or lose exemption from taxation provide for under federal law.”
• “Our bill (MRFA) will protect freedom of conscience for those who believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman.”
  

So here we have a so-called attorney claiming that he and his fellow homophobes in Congress can actually pass a law that would allow so-called religious organizations to openly engage in discrimination based on sexual preference. Obviously, Raul skipped the classes on constitution law while attending the University of Washington Law School.

More disturbing is Raul’s demand that religious organizations be allowed to retain their tax exempt status even when their engaged in overt discrimination. Apparently, Raul isn’t concerned that the targets of his Homophobic views and those of the sham religious organizations are forced to pay additional taxes from the bigots that target them.

Congrats Raul; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Homophobes”; you are far too humble.
