Attorney Nicholas Steffens of Coconut Creek, FL; ethical dwarf

The state of Florida provided Nicholas Theodore Steffens in 2005 after he graduated Seton Hall University Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Nicholas guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to keep client informed about status of legal matter
  3. Failed to comply with client requests for information
  4. Entered into a fee agreement that was excessive (cheater)
  5. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  6. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigation (Up Yours, said Nick!)

In one matter, Nicholas represented Stewart Huffaker concerning a mortgage audit matter and received a $5,000 fee. However, Nicholas did not perform any services on Mr. Huffaker’s behalf and then had the audacity to refuse to return the unearned fee.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Nicholas by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2013) Nicholas practices with Nicholas T. Steffens & Associates, PA at 6810 North State Road in Coconut Creek, Florida.
