Attorney Michael Kennedy of Branford, CT; ethical misfit

The state of Connecticut provided Michael William Kennedy with a law license in 1980

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

Michael was retained by two clients to bring an action against Girard Mitsubishi for violation of the Federal Odometer Act. Mike then filed the required lawsuit. Subsequently, Mike attended a settlement conference in the case; however neither of his clients was present. A proposed settlement agreement was reached with the defendant at the conference.

Upon receipt of the settlement agreement from defense counsel, Mike unlawfully signed both of the client’s names to the document and then acknowledged (notarized) their signatures as a Commissioner of the Superior Court. Mike then sent the agreement to defense counsel without advising him of the sham signatures and notary.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2013) Mike practices with The Kennedy Law Firm at 157 Pine Orchard Road in Branford, Connecticut.
