The Statewide Grievance Committee found Robert guilty of the following misconduct

In one matter, Robert was hired to represent a client in he divorce case. The divorce was acrimonious and she was dissatisfied with several of the settlement terms her husband was demanding. The client voiced her objections to several of the unfavorable items to Robert.

Later on, the parties reached a tentative settlement of the divorce matter. The client then wrote a letter to Robert detailing her dissatisfaction with the settlement agreement. In the letter, she wrote that she felt pressured into agreeing to the terms of the settlement by her ex-husband and his attorney. Despite her objections, Robert signed an authorization and waiver agreement and also reaffirmed the terms of the agreement. On the same date, the court issued a judgment of divorce in accordance with the terms of the settlement that Robert’s client had objected too.

Over the court of the next several months, the client was unable to contact Robert in order that he prepared a deed giving sole interest in the marital home to the client. Additionally, Robert was required to prepare and filed additional documents with the trial court but he failed to do so.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2013) Robert practices with Silver & Katz at 433 South Main Street in West Hartford, Connecticut.
