The state of Delaware presented John E. O’Brien with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Widener University Law School.

 

The Delaware Supreme Court found John guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Johnny’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to maintain required books and records for 4 years
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Filed a false Certificate of Compliance with the Supreme Court re: status of firm’s records

As a consequence of his most recent misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Delaware Supreme Court punished John by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Johnny’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to obtain informed consent from client
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to provide statement of fees charged to client (victim)

As a consequence of his most recent misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Delaware Supreme Court punished John by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. September 2013) John practices at 108 East Water Street in Dover, Delaware.
