The state of Illinois presented Philip William Collins III with a law license in 1990

The Disciplinary Commission found Philip guilty of the following misconuct.

In one matter, Philip failed to communicate with his client or take any action to resolve a title dispute related to the client’s purchase of an automobile.

In another matter, Philip neglected a client’s employment discrimination case, resulting in her state and federal claims becoming time-barred. Put simply, the client (victim) forever lost her right to pursue her discrimination claims. Making matters worse, Philip gave a check to the client for the refund of unearned fees that was twice returned to her for insufficient funds (rubber).

Because Attorney Misfits in Illinois are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Philip was never criminally charged for writing bad checks.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Philip by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2013) Philip practices with the Law Offices of Philip W. Collins III at 360 East Randolph Street in Chicago, Illinois.
