Sen. Darrell Steinberg of Sacramento; arrogant, ethically inept, moron

Sadly, Sen. Darrell Steinberg appears to believe that “his bowel movement is without odor,” if ya know what I mean.

Unfortunately, I am one of Sen. Darrell Steinberg’s constituents in that I live in Folsom. (FYI: Darrell, I am not a resident that is provided with three free squares a day).

In November 2008, the state Senate voted to name Darrell Steinberg as President Pro Tempore of the California Senate (means he’s the head honcho).

As I suspect you know, portions of California and in particular the South and the San Joaquin Valley continues to suffer from shortages of water. Over the years, the so-called legislators in Sacramento have not taken this problem seriously. In fact, it would be safe to say that they have for the most part totally ignored it. Of course this ongoing inaction has caused the problem to become more pronounced, thereby increasing the cost of any real remedy.
In putting forth the aura that he was an apolitical broker of a fix for the ongoing water problems, Sen. Darrell Steinberg recently ushered through a $9 billion bond proposal.

However, in cementing his status as an arrogant and pompous ingrate, Sen. Steinberg had the chutzpah to add in a $10,000 earmark for his favorite charity, a nonprofit tolerance center in Sacramento.

For the benefit of overtaxed Californians, maybe Darrell and those of his ilk (FYI Darrell, ilk is not a male Elk), would agree to fund a “non-tolerance” center in Sacramento dedicated to legislators who have the audacity to claim they are serving the publics best interests.

It may well be that Darrell Steinberg’s favored charity is a worthwhile endeavor; however, to suggest that he has the authority to force every taxpayer in California to fund it is of course absurd.

Immediately after the Sacramento Bee discovered what Darrell was up to, he announced that he would withdraw the $10,000 taxpayer-funded stipend. Had it not been for the Sacramento Bee, Sen. Darrell Steinberg would likely have succeeded in again “hosing” the taxpayers of California. Kudos to the Sacramento Bee!

A cursory review of Sen. Darrell Steinberg’s terms in the Assembly and Senate clearly indicates that he is not truly concerned about the welfare of the majority of overtaxed Californians. Of course to be fair to Sen. Steinberg, he has many brethren in the legislature that are like minded.

It would appear that Sen. Darrell Steinberg isn’t too concerned about actually serving the interests of his constituents in the greater Sacramento area. In fact, his conduct is reminiscent of the comment by Rhett Butler in “Gone with the Wind,” which was “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

And lastly, if and when Darrell Steinberg decides to run for re-election, this ol’ Dawg just might enter the race as an independent, which would at a minimum, afford me the opportunity enlighten the electorate to all of Darrell’s misdeeds.
