Attorney Eric Bowman of Goodyear, AZ; ethical misfit

The state of Pennsylvania presented Eric Reginald Bowman with a law license in 1990

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) has found Eric guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Eric was hired by Gary Contessa to represent 17 of his employees in their immigration matters, which involved obtaining an H2B visa or visa extension of each of them.

Mr. Contessa paid Eric $8,000, which was for estimated fees of $5,000 and costs of $3,000. Eric then cashed the check at Key Bank; however, he failed to deposit the money into a client trust account as required.

Subsequently, Eric advised Mr. Contessa that he had been sent new cases and he then asked for another retainer check for $8,000 to cover the new cases. Mr. Contessa responded by stating he would not send additional funds in the event new names were added. Additionally, he disputed that $8,000 was necessary and stated that if the cost for each additional employee was $800 he would send another $5,600, which he did. However, Eric again failed to deposit the money into a trust account as required.

As a consequence of his of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2013) Eric practices at 8948 South San Angelo Street in Goodyear, Arizona.

Warning: Eric does not carry legal malpractice insurance
