Attorney Gary Eaton of Bridgeport, CT; ethical goblin

The state of Connecticut provided Gary M. Eaton with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Boston College Law School.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Gary guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Gary represented the executrix of the will of her mother, Drusilla Taylor in probating her mother’s estate. At that time, the client paid Gary $1,000 and gave him documents concerning the estate.

After she hired Gary, the client experienced difficulty in communicating with him. Gary failed to take any action in advancing the probate of the estate. The client then fired Gary and hired another attorney.

The new attorney sent Gary a letter requesting a refund of the $1,000 retainer and return of the clients documents. Three months later, the attorney sent Gary another demand letter since he failed to respond to the original demand letter.

After the client filed an ethics complaint against Gary he finally refunded the $1,000 that he was not lawfully entitled to retain.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Gary by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2013) Gary practices at 1242 Stratford Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
