Attorney Peter Nickitas of Minneapolis; repeat offender

 
The state of Minnesota presented Peter James Nickitas with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School.
 
The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Peter guilty of the following misconduct.
 
Peter’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2005
 
Peter found it acceptable to engage in a sexual relationship with a client. He also entered into multiple business transactions wi

th a client, including a $9,900 interest-free loan.
 
Peter also violated his duty to make a written disclosure of the potential conflicts of interest, and he further failed to advise the client to obtain independent counsel regarding the business transactions.
 
And lastly, Peter failed to file a timely appeal of a final judgment on behalf of his client (victim).
 
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Peter by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
 
Peter’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree – 2013

  • Undertook representation of a client despite an obvious conflict of interest
  • Engaged in inappropriate conduct toward opposing counsel
  • Brought forward a claim in bad faith and for an improper purpose
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Peter by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.
 
As we speak (ca. August 2013), Peter practices at 431 South 7th Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
