Attorney Robert Kaufmann of Westport, CT; lying loser
The state of Connecticut provided Robert Michael Kaufmann with a law license in 1991
The Statewide Grievance Committee found Robert guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Robert represented Peter Lenyee and Edward Zayzay in regards to injuries sustained in an auto accident. A chiropractor treated Pater and Edward in regards to their injuries. Subsequently, Robert signed letters of protection for the chiropractor’s medical bills.
When the clients’ claims settled, Robert disbursed the required proceeds to his clients; however, he did not pay the chiropractor’s outstanding bills from the settlement proceeds. The chiropractor’s outstanding bills of $4,180 and $3,865 for Mr. Zayzay and Mr. Lenyee respectively remain unpaid for nearly five (5) years.
Robert had the chutzpah to defend his action in not paying the chiropractor for nearly five years was due to an oversight on his part. Clearly, Bobby missed his calling as a standup comedian.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Robert by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. August 2013) Robert practices with the Kaufmann Law Offices at 260 Riverside Avenue in Westport, Connecticut.
