Attorney Katina Whitfield of Petersburg, VA; ethical gremlin

The state of Virginia presented Katina C. Whitfield with a law license in 1998.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Katina guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Improperly used trust account funds to pay personal expenses
  2. Failed to safeguard client funds
  3. Failed to maintain separate client trust accounts as required
  4. Failed to maintain records of all funds she received from her clients
  5. Never maintained any books or records relating to client funds
  6. Failed to ever perform required escrow and accounting procedures as required by the rules
  7. Charged a clearly excessive fee
  8. Withdrew funds from trust account with insufficient funds (rubber)
  9. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Katina by giving her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2013), Katina continues to practice in the Petersburg, Virginia area.
