Attorney Alfred Robertson, Jr. of Alexandria, VA; moronic liar
The state of Virginia presented Alfred Lincoln Robertson, Jr. with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from George Mason University Law School.
The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board found Alfred guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Alfred was hired by Andres Benitez to assist him with a domestic assault matter and paid Alfred $1,000.
Subsequently, the court set a trial date for the assault matter for July 10. When Andres learned of the trial date, his wife immediately telephoned Alfred and told him that the family had long standing travel plans from June 23 through July 10 for a trip to El Salvador. Stephen then assured her that he would obtain a continuance of the trial date and advised her that they could proceed with the trip.
On June 20, Andres and his daughter went to Alfred’s office to make a payment Alfred again told them to go ahead with their vacation plans.
Alfred failed to obtain a continuance of the trial and the case was called for trial on July 10. Neither Alfred nor Andres appeared for the trial, which led the court to issue a bench warrant for Andres’ arrest. Upon returning from El Salvador, Andres’ stepdaughter advised him that the court had issued a bench warrant for his arrest because he failed to appear at the July 10 trial.
Andres and his wife then went to Alfred’s office in order to find out what had happened in their case. Alfred told them not to worry about it because he would take care of it. Subsequently, Andres fired Alfred and hired a competent attorney who was able to get the bench warrant withdrawn.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Alfred by giving him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. July 2013), Alfred practices with the Robertson Law Office, PLLC at 500 North Washington Street in Alexandria, Virginia.
