Attorney William K. Brown of Weymouth, MA; ethical dwarf

The state of Massachusetts provided William Kevin Brown with a law license in 1987

The Board of Bar Overseers found William guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, William was hired to represent a client in recovering damages suffered when the client slipped and fell on a patch of ice in the parking lot at her daughter’s condominium. The claims manager identified the contractor who had plowed the condominium’s parking lot and wrote that the client’s claim should be sent to the contractor; however, William never contacted the contractor.

Two days before the statute of limitations expired, William filed a lawsuit on behalf of his client; however, he did not name the plowing contactor as a defendant.

William never served a copy of the lawsuit on the defendants and therefore the trial court dismissed the complaint for failure to serve the defendants. As a result of William’s gross incompetence, the client’s claims were forever barred by the statute of limitations.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished William by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2013), William practices with the Law Office of William Kevin Brown at 74 Pleasant Street in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
