Attorney Joseph Foglia of Clifton, NJ; convicted tax cheater

The state of New Jersey presented Joseph A. Foglia with a law license in 1975.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Joseph guilty of the following misconduct.

Joseph pleaded guilty to attempted tax evasion in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Joey had the chutzpah to claim approximately $267,355 in falsified and fabricated business expenses on his federal income tax return in order to reduce his reported income and thus the amount of income tax he owed to the I.R.S.

During an IRS audit, Joey the Dufus provide the Revenue Agent a general ledger which falsely characterized $99,635 in personal expenses as legitimate business expenses in an attempt to conceal the extent of his deliberate misrepresentations on his original tax return.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Joseph by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

It must be comforting to the folks living in Clifton, New Jersey to know that there is yet another convicted felon practicing law compliments of the comedians sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. July 2013) Joseph practices at 777 Passaic Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey.
