Attorney Gerald Batt of Vineland, NJ; ethical dwarf

The state of New Jersey presented Gerald J. Batt with a law license in 1964 after he graduated from Dickinson University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Gerald guilty of misconduct.

Gerald found it acceptable to engage in an egregious conflict of interest by handling the estate of a deceased partner where the law firm’s interest were in direct competition with those of the partner’s widow.

The widow was never advised to seek independent counsel during the course of resolving the distribution of her husband’s life insurance policy.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Gerald by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. June 2013) Gerald practices at 110 North 6th Street in Vineland, New Jersey.
