The state of Delaware presented L. Vincent Ramunno with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from Georgetown University Law School.
The Delaware Supreme court found L. Vincent guilty of the following misconduct.
While engaged in an office conference before a Superior Court judge, L. Vincent referred to opposing counsel using a vulgar, derogatory term. The judge overheard the comment and cited L. Vincent for contempt.
The following day, L. Vincent moved to recuse (remove) the judge on the grounds that the contempt citation would prejudice the case against his client. During the court’s consideration of the recusal motion, L. Vincent insulted the court directly, and was again cited for contempt.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Delaware Supreme Court punished L. Vincent by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
