Judge Harland Hale of Columbus, OH; lifetime porker, ticket fixer

Unfortunately, the state of Ohio presented Harland Hanna Hale with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from the University of Toledo Law School.

After receiving his law license in 1979, Judge Hale has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough from 1979 through 2013. In 2003, former Gov. Bob Taft was duped into appointing Hale to a judgeship on the Franklin County Municipal Court in Columbus.

It is painfully clear that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Columbus, Ohio area was about to offer Harland a good paying job.

In April 2012, the Columbus Dispatch reported that Harland had dismissed a speeding ticket for lawyer Patrick M. Quinn, who was representing him in lawsuits related to sexual-harassment reports. Harland dismissed the ticket

In December 2011, Harland dismissed a speeding ticket for lawyer Patrick M. Quinn, who was representing him in lawsuits related to sexual-harassment complaints.

Harland dismissed the ticket “without any involvement from the prosecutor, and signed the dismissal order that “falsely stated: Prosecutor dismissed.” (John Futty, Columbus Dispatch)

This is exactly the kind of ticket-fixing, unethical Dufus you get when someone is appointed for acting as a compliant lackey for the local political hacks and not because he/she was the most qualified attorney available for the judgeship.

All that’s left now is to see what if any punishment the Ohio Supreme Court metes out to Harland. Given it’s deplorable record as acting as enablers for Judicial Misfits, at worst he’ll receive a complimentary reprimand. In truth, Harland should be removed from the bench for his ticket-fixing act.

If Harland is tossed off the bench, he surely won’t find a job that pays $104,100 a year; however, he can always apply for a job as a greeter at the Sam’s Club at 3950 Morse Road in Columbus. And if that doesn’t pan out, he can take a course at the Bartending Institute of Columbus.
