Attorney Bruce Poston of Knoxville; repeat offender 
The state of Tennessee provided Bruce Edward Poston with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from Case Western Reserve Law School in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Bruce guilty of the following misconduct.
Bruce’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
In one matter, Bruce represented Marcus Branner who was convicted of two counts of attempted second degree murder.
Despite Branner’s request, Bruce never filed an appeal of his conviction. After Branner filed an ethics complaint with the Board, Bruce stated that he would file a delayed appeal; however, he was late in doing so and as a result, Branner’s post conviction petition was not accepted by the Court of Appeals because it was time-barred.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Bruce by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
Bruce’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
In one matter, Bruce represented a client in an appeal to the Court of Criminal Appeals. When Bruce failed to file the required appeal brief, the Court of Appeals issued a show cause order, requiring Bruce to appear before the Court to explain his failure to file the required brief.
Bruce then thumbed his nose at the Court of Appeals when he failed to appear at the ordered show cause hearing. The Court then found Bruce in contempt and ordered that he be imprisoned for 12 hours and fined $50.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Bruce by gifting him with a second (2nd) complimentary censure.
