Attorney Robert Teti of West Chester, PA; serial thief 
The state of Pennsylvania presented Robert S. Teti with a law license in 1978.
The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Robert guilty of the following misconduct.
Robert was an approved title insurance attorney for the Abstracting Company of Chester County (ABCO). As an agent for ABCO, Robert handled real estate settlements,
made distributions of funds and prepared settlement sheets.
Over an extended period of time, Robert failed to pay ABCO its fee and instead retained
the fees to pay personal expenses, such as health insurance, school tuition for his children,
and other expenses in an amount of nearly $16,000.
After his thefts were uncovered, Robert was charged with and later entered a guilty plea to twenty-one (21) counts of Failure to Make Required Disposition of Funds. He was subsequently sentenced to five years probation and community service.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Robert by ordering that he be disbarred; however, several years later, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Supreme Court voted to reinstate Robert’s law license.
It must be comforting to the folks living in the West Chester area to know that there is a convicted thief practicing law in their area compliments of the comedians sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
