Judge Scott Steiner of Santa Ana; lifetime porker, pervert

The state of California presented Scott Acheson Steiner with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from the University of California Hastings Law School.

Since Scotty received his law license in 1999, he has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough. From 1999 through 2010, he worked as a Deputy Orange County DA. In November 2010, Scott duped the voters in the Orange County area into electing him as a Superior Court Judge.

In addition to an annual salary of nearly $180,000, Scotty also receives unknown income as an adjunct professor at Chapman Univ. Law School. Of course $180,000 a year was more than Scotty ever dreamed he’d be earning in 2012. After 12-years as an assistant DA, it appears that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Orange County area was about to offer Scotty a good paying job.

A judicial job paying nearly $170,000 a year was more money than Scotty ever dreamed of making. After 12-years as an assistant DA, it appears that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Orange County area was about to offer Scotty a good paying job. Therefore, landing a judicial job paying nearly $170,000 a year was more than Scotty knew he was worth. In addition, Scotty knocks down an undisclosed amount as an adjunct professor at Chapman Univ. Law School.

In early 2013, the California Attorney General’s Office and the Orange County Sheriff’s department initiated a criminal probe of Judge Steiner in regards to allegations of a quid pro quo sexual affair based on information received from Chapman Univ. Law School. It has been alleged that Steiner engaged in a sexual relationship with a woman in exchange for getting her a job at the Orange County DA’s office.

After the Orange County Weekly first reported on the Steiner investigation, which was followed by stories in the Orange County Register and the LA Times, Steiner was transferred from the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana to the North Justice Center in Fullerton where he handles more trivial cases.

All that remains now is to see if the authorities investigating Judge Steiner have the courage to indict him if the evidence proves beyond a reasonable doubt that he was trading sexual favors for a job at the DA’s office.

And lastly, if the evidence meets the standard of “clear and convincing” rather than “beyond a reasonable doubt,” which would or should trigger an investigation by the Judicial Commission, Steiner wouldn’t have much to worry about given the sad record of the Commission in punishing unethical/incompetent judges.

As we speak (ca. April 2013). Scotty continues to sit as a Orange County Superior Court Judge in Fullerton, Calfiornia.
