Attorney Joseph Rego of San Diego; ethical goblin

The state of California provided Joseph James Rego with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of LaVerne Law School in Ontario, California.

The State Bar Court found Joseph guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Disobeyed a court order
Joseph’s misconduct involved his handling of a conservatorship. After the sale of the conservatee’s house in San Diego, the matter was transferred to Riverside County.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Joseph by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

Three years later, the conservatee died but Rego did not complete the matter in a timely fashion. As a result, a public conservator was appointed and won sanctions totaling $25,000 against Joseph. He was ordered by the court to pay that amount ($25,000) within 30 days but failed to do so.

As we speak (ca. April 2013) Joseph practices at 3443 Camino Del Rio Street in San Diego, California.
