Attorney Daniel Sweeney of Burbank, CA; ethical dwarf
The state of California provided Daniel Joseph Sweeney with a law license in 1977 after he graduated from Southwestern University Law College in Los Angeles.
The State Bar Court found Daniel guilty of the following misconduct.
Daniel admitted that he committed four (4) acts of misconduct while representing a client (victim) with child support problems.
The client mistakenly thought that he could get the arrearage greatly reduced by a retroactive modification to the child support order, but such modifications are forbidden by statute.
When it became absolutely clear to Daniel that the client’s beliefs were mistaken, he did nothing to correct them.
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Daniel’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two (2) separate complimentary public reprovals for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Daniel by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. April 2013) Daniel practices at 290 East Verdugo Avenue in Burbank, California.
