Attorney Jason Gold of Raleigh; ethical misfit

 
The state of North Carolina presented Jason Alfred Gold with a law license in 2004.
 
The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar charged Jason with the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to afford client’s to make informed decisions
  2. Engaged in a conflict of interest
  3. Failed to explain the significant risks clients were taking in obtaining loan
  4. Committed a criminal act adversely reflecting on his fitness to practice law
  5. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  6. Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to the Bar investigators
  7. Made a false statement of material fact to Special Agent Daran Dodd
  8. Used confidential information gained from client to the client’s disadvantage
The criminal act Jason committed was by signing a client’s name (forgery) to five closing documents and falsely notarizing them that they were true and accurate.
 
All that’s left now is for the North Carolina Supreme Court to determine the punishment that Jason will receive for his egregious misconduct
 
As we speak (ca. March 2013) Jason continues to practice in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
