Attorney Stephen Watt of Grand Rapids, MI; thief

The state of Michigan presented Stephen C. Watt with a law license in 1977.

The Michigan Attorney Disciplinary Board found Stephen guilty of the following misconduct.

Stephen pleaded no contest to taking possession of funds belong to the estate of a deceased client. In addition, Stephen improperly endorsed (forged) a decedent’s name to a check.

Stealing from the dead – how cool is that?

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Stephen by gifting him with a complimentary 120-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2013), Stephen practices with the Watt Law Firm PC at 2951 Thornhills Avenue in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
