Judge Morrow Overturned by Higher Courts

Judge Morrow’s asinine rulings have been overturned numerous times by the Court of Appeals (COA). In fact, he’s been turned over more than a pancake at the IHOP restaurant at 2701 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit.

In one matter, wherein Morrow illegally closed the courtroom while sentencing a convicted murderer, the COA ruled that Morrow “failed to follow the law” when it reversed his ruling.

Another matter involved a defendant charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine. The search warrant was based on a controlled buy made by a confidential informant/source of information (SOI) #2117. Subsequently, Morrow granted the defendant’s motion to suppress evidence obtained by the search warrant after he ordered the Detroit Police Dept. to produce all search warrants issued as a result of evidence obtained by the use of informant #2117. Morrow then dismissed the criminal case.

Subsequently, the COA reversed Morrow’s rulings and ruled his granting the motion to suppress was invalid, and that he abused his discretion. The COA then remanded the case to a different judge, stating that Morrow “essentially [became] an advocate for the defendant.”

The costs to the taxpayers of Detroit to have the Court of Appeals repeatedly reverse Judge Morrow’s illegal rulings is likely in the tens-of-thousands of dollars if not more.

All that’s left now is to see if the Judicial Commission has the courage to order that this Judge Roy Bean Wannabee be permanently removed from the bench.

As we speak (ca. March 2013), Judge Morrow continues to sit on the bench of the 3rd Circuit Court in Detroit, Michigan.
