Attorney Peter Bergman of Houston; repeat offender

The state of Texas presented Peter A. Bergman with a law license in 1979after he graduated from the South Texas College of Law.

The 55th District Court of Harris County (Houston) found Peter guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to communicate with client
  2. Failed to respond to repeated calls from client
  3. Illegally practice law while his license was suspended
  4. Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  5. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
Peter was hired to handle a name-change petition for a client and was paid $500 plus costs. However, Peter failed to return his client’s repeated phone calls. He also failed to perfect service, or avoid dismissal of the petition for want of prosecution.

Subsequently, Peter filed a motion to reinstatement on his client’s behalf, but he failed to attend the court scheduled hearing on his motion and the case was not reinstated.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Peter’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary stayed suspension for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Peter by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Peter continues to practice law with Peter A. Bergman P.C. at 10500 Northwest Freeway in Houston, Texas.
