Attorney Carlos Muniz of Miami; ethical elf

The state of Florida presented Carlos Michael Muniz with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from St. Thomas University Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Carlos guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Carlos represented himself, pro se, as well as his law firm, in a civil lawsuit styled Ackerman v Muniz, et al. The lawsuit was filed with the Miami Dade County Circuit Court.

Subsequently, the matter proceeded to a bench trial before Judge Daryl E. Trawick. Following the trial, Judge Trawick took the matter under advisement. Three weeks later, Carlos approached Judge Trawick and, outside the presence of opposing counsel, implored the judge to rule against the opposing party. Carlos repeated his comments to the judge at least two times, despite being warned that they were improper.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Carlos by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Carlos practices with the Law Offices of Carlos M. Muniz, PA at 1800 SW 27th Avenue in Miami, Florida.
