Attorney Jody Chance of Cary, NC; ethical goblin  The state of North Dakota presented Jody L. Chance with a law license in 1998.
The Disciplinary Board found Jody guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Jody failed to provide the required record to the Wyoming Supreme Court when he appealed a case for a client, which resulted in his losing the appeal and having costs and fees awarded in favor of the opposing party and against his client.
Not satisfied with engaging in gross negligence that cause his client’s appeal to be dismissed, Jody then failed to timely notify his client that he had lost the appeal.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the North Dakota Supreme Court punished Jody by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
