Attorney Joseph Stafford of Cleveland; ethical elf The state of state of Ohio presented Joseph Gregory Stafford with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.
Disciplinary Counsel of the Ohio Supreme Court found Joseph guilty of the following misconduct.
It must be comforting to the folks in Toledo to know that there is yet another convict practice law compliments of the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.
In one matter, Joseph intentionally deceived the Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court when he filed an ex parte (one-sided) motion to amend his client’s complaint in a divorce case. Although Joseph indicated that the sole purpose of the motion was to include additional parties, he secretly inserted an answer to a counterclaim seeking to enforce a prenuptial agreement that had been filed by the opposing party two years earlier, but that Joseph failed to respond to within the time limits imposed by court rules.
In another matter, Joseph direct his client, Jeffrey Rymers, and a subordinate attorney, Nicholas Gallo, to file sworn affidavits that Joe used to recklessly accuse Judge Eugene Lucci of intimidation and abuse of his judicial office after Lucci filed a motion to disqualify Joe from representing Rymers in a pending case based on a conflict of interest.
As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Joseph by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. March 2013) Joseph practices with Stafford & Stafford Co. LPA at 55 Erieview Plaza in Cleveland, Ohio.
