Today’s “Lunatic” Award Winner
Ed Orcutt succeeded in duping the voters in the greater Longview, Washington area into electing him as their state representative. Ed is a ranking member of the Washington State Transportation Committee.
In an effort to cement his status as a practicing Lunatic, Eddy recently argued that bicycling is bad for the environment.
In an email to bike shop owner Dale Carson, Loony Ed said bike riders pollute the environment because they produce more carbon dioxide than car drives. Eddy went on to say that because bike riders have an “increased heart rate and respiration,” the act of riding a bike “results in greater emission of carbon dioxide from the rider.”
Maybe Loony Ed should propose legislation taxing bike riders for their excessive breathing and increased heart rates such as:
$0.25 per heart beat over 70 per minute
$0.50 per breath over 15 per minute
Such a tax would surely help in reducing the budget crisis in the State of Washington and it would teach those polluting bike rides a lesson they wouldn’t soon forget.
In truth, its Loons like Eddy that are responsible for producing more carbon dioxide because of the Loony Bullshit they spew forth on a daily basis.
Congrats Ed; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of America’s Premier Lunatics; you are far too humble.
