Attorney Gregory Straub of Brookfield, WI; lying thief
The state of Wisconsin presented Gregory J. Straub with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.
The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Gregory guilty of the following misconduct.
Gregory found it acceptable to forge a client’s signature on a settlement check and release. He then converted (stole) the settlement funds to his own personal use. Gregory then lied to his client and others about the amount of the settlement he received on the client’s behalf.
Gregory furthered his scheme to defraud his client by settlement the clients’ claim without their knowledge or authorization. He also fabricated lien satisfactions in order to obtain a personal loan (bank fraud).
Because Attorney Misfits in Wisonconsin are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Gregory was never criminally charged with fraud, forgery, grand theft and/or bank fraud.
As a consequence of his most recent misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Gregory by revoking his law license.
Unfortunately, the comedians sitting on the Supreme Court subsequently reinstated Gregory’s law license. Apparently they felt that Gregory had a constitutional right to earn a dishonest living as an attorney. .
It is any wonder that most Wisconsinites have total contempt for the manner in which Attorney Misfits are held accountable for their egregious misconduct?
As we speak (ca. March 2013) Gregory practices with the Elmbrook Law Offices at 333 Bishops Way in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
