Former Judge Kelly Ballentine of Lancaster, PA; convict

The state of Pennsylvania presented Kelly S. Ballentine with a law license in 1995.

Lisa succeeded in duping the voters in the Lancaster area into electing her as a Lancaster County Magisterial District Judge in 2006.

The Pennsylvania Judicial Conduct Board recently (ca. Feb 2013) filed the following misconduct charges against Judge Ballentine.

In late 2010, Judge Ballentine received three summary traffic citations with fines totaling $268.50 – two were parking violations and the other for expired registrations for a BMW sedan.

Judge Ballentine entered into the court’s computer system and dismissed her three tickets. Subsequently, Kelly pleaded guilty to tampering with public records. She has yet to be sentenced for her criminal conduct.

As we speak (ca. February 2013), no action of any kind has been taken by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel against Kelly’s license to practice law.

Given the past conduct of the Disciplinary Counsel, it is highly likely that if misconduct charges are lodged against her, that at most she’ll receive a complimentary reprimand.

It must be comforting to the folks living in Lancaster to know that there is yet another convicted criminal practicing law in their area compliments of the comedians sitting on Disciplinary Counsel
