Attorney Julie Dialess-Lafley of Springfield, MA; cheater

The state of Massachusetts presented Julie Dialess-Lafley with a law license in 1997.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Julie guilty of the following misconduct

Julie was appointed as a client’s representative payee for Social Security Supplemental Social Security (SSI) payments. The client’s monthly payment was $653.40, which was subsequently raised to $667.40.

Over a period of 18 months, Julie received her client’s monthly SSE check and paid the client’s expenses and debts from these funds. However, Julie failed to maintain the required client ledger for her client’s funds.

Over a four month period of time, Julie charged her client a fee of $1,525 for serving as representative payee. The fee was in violation of Federal law, which provides that only a qualified organization may collect a fee for t he service of acting as a representative payee. Julie absolutely knew that she did not meet the requirements of a “qualified organization.”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Julie by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2013) Julie practices with Bacon/Wilson PC at 33 State Street in Springfield, Massachusetts.
