Attorney Kerry Willets of Cedar, UT; repeat offender

The state of Utah presented Kerry F. Willets with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from Willamette University Law School.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Kerry by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2013) Kerry practices with the Law Offices of Kerry Willets PC at 2069 North Main Street in Cedar, Utah.
  1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to communicate with client
  3. Obstructed disciplinary proceedings (Up Yours, said Kerry!)
  4. Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct by knowingly assisting or inducing another to do so, or doing so through the acts of another
In one matter, Kerry was hired to seek relief under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy code. Kerry received an executed Reaffirmation Agreement from his client. Kerry failed to confirm that the bank had received the Reaffirmation Agreement and that it had been filed. Kerry’s failure to have the Reaffirmation Agreement filed caused his client to have his care unnecessarily reposed and to miss work. It also caused the client to re-open the bankruptcy action pro se in order to remedy the problem.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Kerry’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He was previously disciplined for engaging in the same type of misconduct.
