Attorney Samuel Dixon, Jr. of Hartford; ethical gremlin
The state of Connecticut provided Samuel E. Dixon, Jr. with a law license in 1985.
The Statewide Grievance Committee found Samuel guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Samuel represented the beneficiaries of their father’s estate, which consisted of a wrongful death action. The clients agreed with Samuel to settle the wrongful death matter for $150,000. Samuel was entitled to one-third ($50,000) of the settlement as his fees. However, he eventually pocketed $105,000 as fees, which is just a tad more than a third.
As one would suspect, this wasn’t Sammy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. Sammy previously received 2 complimentary reprimands and one 9-month suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Samuel by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. February 2013) Samuel practices with the Law Office of Samuel Dixon at 205 Ivy Street in Hartford, Connecticut.
