Attorney Timothy Cary of Cameron Park, CA; greedy loser

The state of California presented Timothy M. Cary with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School.

Timothy and his firm has made a comfortable living providing alleged legal services on behalf of various government entities in the greater Sacramento area over the past several years. One of those entities is the Twin Rivers Unified School District.

Timothy’s firm has been under scrutiny for 2-years as the Twin Rivers teachers union drew attention to mounting legal bills in the district. Between 2007 and 2012, Twin Rivers paid Timothy’s firm more than $10 million. (Melody Gutierrez, Sacramento Bee)

In one instance Timothy found it acceptable to bill Twin Rivers $225 an hour for the alleged services of an attorney who was not licensed to practice law in California.

An audit conduct by KPC Legal Audit Services Inc. of Glendale, California revealed that Timothy’s firm submitted hourly charges for thirty-four (34) different people at hourly rates of $80 for document clerks. Clearly, Timmy Baby wasn’t paying document clerks anywhere near $80 an hour. I’m confident they didn’t earn anything near $20 an hour, which left Greedy Timmy with a neat profit of $60 an hour.

Anyone employed by the Twin Rivers School District that had anything to do with approving the outrageous and possibly fraudulent billing habits of Timothy Cary’s firm should be immediately discharged.

At a time when under-funded school districts throughout California are laying off teachers and other workers, how can anyone justify paying a law firm nearly $3 million in one year?

I have personally reviewed hundreds upon hundreds of pages of attorney time sheets in the past. I’m confident that a thorough review of the Cary firm’s time sheets will uncover outright fraud. Those in charge should not allow Timothy and members of his firm to get away with bilking Twin Rivers under the guise that their billing statements were mere errors.

And lastly, if fraud is discovered, hopefully the Sacramento County District Attorney will have the courage to file criminal charges against Timothy.

As we speak (ca. February 2013), Timothy practices with Timothy M. Cary & Associates at 3300 Cameron Park Drive in Cameron Park, California, which is about 35 miles east of Sacramento.
