Attorney George Royer of Toledo; ethical elf

The state of Ohio presented George Ronald Royer with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from the University of Toledo Law School.

The Toledo Bar Association Grievance Committee found George guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Misconduct involved multiple violations
  2. Neglected legal matters entrusted to him
  3. Failed to deposit client funds into client trust account
  4. Commingled client funds with personal funds
  5. Failed to maintain accurate records of client funds
  6. Failed to provide client with accounting of client funds
Theresa Celestino hired George regarding a medical malpractice claim and gave George a $3,000 cashier’s check for his services. George failed to deposit the $3,000 into a client trust account. George also failed to deposit and additional $4,500 he received from Theresa into a client trust account.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished George by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license. In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to George.

As we speak (ca. January 2013) George practices with the George R. Royer Law Offices at 1018 Adams Street in Toledo, Ohio.
