Attorney William Snider of West Hartford, CT; perjurer
The state of Connecticut provided William A. Snider with a law license in 1995.
The Statewide Grievance Committee found William guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, William was appointed to represent a client in connection with an appeal of a criminal conviction. During the representation, the client became dissatisfied with the level of communication with William. Subsequently, the client’s appeal was denied and he instructed William to file a notice of appeal with the Connecticut Supreme Court.
After the client discovered that William failed to file the appeal notice with the Supreme Court he filed a grievance; however, William claimed he had in fact filed the notice of appeal.
After the grievance committee conducted a hearing, William contacted the Supreme Clerk’s Office to verify that he had filed the notice of appeal. In a letter sent to William, the Supreme Court stated that no notice of appeal was ever filed on his client’s behalf.
The committee concluded that William testified falsely under oath that he had filed a notice of appeal on behalf of his client when in fact he had not done so.
Because Attorney Misfits in Connecticut are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, William was never criminally charged for perjury.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished William by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. January 2013) William practices at 87 South Quaker Lane in West Hartford, Connecticut.
